back in 2019, tyler and their best friend, comedian spencer simpson, decided to make a film. the issue? neither of them were trained in filmmaking. even better, they were both new to nyc and didn't know other actors or filmmakers yet.

over the course of many weekends, a 10+ year old dslr camera, some willing acquaintances…and then editing on a laptop which overheated every 30 minutes, the short was born. fantastic beats and where to find them is a macaroni-budget mockumentary centering two young, misunderstood artists navigating nyc. it is crude, lo-fi, and ultimately a reflection of where the two young artists who made it were at.

fantastic beats was completed in early 2020, and went on to be celebrated at festivals across the united states. this film (alongside a life changing pandemic) pushed tyler to pursue graduate school for film. check out tyler and spencer's misadventures (aka the full film) below.

(small note: tyler went by "tyler lucrecia" because they were worried about their name being on google next to the word 'coochiesweat'. tyler has since embraced this.)
